Wipro India Consulting Hub

With the AI strategy at Wipro picking up steam, the company is putting in place a new head for its India Consulting Hub. Dr (H.C.) Anil Jain has been made Managing Partner and Head of the unit as well as a member of the Consulting Executive Committee.

Why Wipro Is Strengthening Its Consulting Leadership

The move is part of Wipro’s effort to put more muscle behind its consulting bench and refine an AI-powered, consulting-led approach to growth. Enterprises today want something more from their technology vendors than just products; they need guidance on the AI transformation, and Wipro is positioning itself to provide that.

Dr. Anil Jain Brings 30+ Years of Consulting and Industry Experience

Jain comes to Wipro with over 30 years’ worth of experience in operations, telecommunications and consulting. Most recently he was at Accenture for close to seven years, where he led some 1,000 management consultants in his capacity as Managing Director and CMT Market Lead for the Americas. Prior to his stint there, he was in senior roles at such firms as Jio, Aircel Limited, G4S India and Electrolux Kelvinator Limited, which has given him a grounding in both operational and technology-centric businesses.

What Anil Jain Will Focus on at Wipro

What this means for Wipro is a shift in focus. According to the company, Jain will be tasked with developing top-tier talent and fostering better collaboration in global markets. The aim is to meld consulting, technology and AI in order to get better results for the client.

Why Consulting Matters as Businesses Scale AI

It is a distinction that matters now more than ever. As companies stop merely experimenting with AI and start to scale it, they are after help tying those tools into their business strategy and operations to see measurable returns. A robust consulting function is what sets a technology services firm apart in that regard.

Wipro’s Move Reflects a Bigger Shift in Enterprise AI

Wipro’s decision is in step with a wider trend in the industry, where the big names are pouring resources into consulting to assist enterprise customers with everything from modernisation to full-scale transformation. By installing a seasoned leader in the India hub, Wipro is looking to bring its consulting and tech capabilities under one roof. For the client, it offers a more cohesive way of doing things instead of having strategy and implementation treated as two separate entities. In a market where the contest is no longer about who can supply the technology but who can make it work for the business, Jain puts Wipro in a stronger position to compete.
