With the acquisition of Rilo, an Indian AI workflow startup, Adobe is making a move to bolster its agentic AI offerings.
The Bengaluru company, which was established less than 12 months ago, has put in an impressive showing and now finds its technology in the hands of one of the software industry’s giants.
What Adobe’s Rilo Acquisition Includes
Rilo was the brainchild of IIT Bombay graduates Dhruv Jaglan and Georgi Boby, who set up shop in September 2025. Under the terms of the deal, Adobe is not only licensing Rilo’s tech but also taking on its six-strong team. While the price tag for the transaction has been kept under wraps, it is reported that Rilo had put together some $1 million in seed capital from backers like Peak XV Partners, DeVC and Day Zero Ventures on a $10 million valuation. In the short time since its launch the firm has managed to amass over 10,000 users.
Why Adobe Wanted Rilo’s AI Workflow Technology
The appeal of Rilo’s platform lay in its straightforward approach. The premise was that you should not need to be a technician to handle complicated workflows. Through its AI automation, a user could put into plain English what he or she needed and have an AI agent construct and run the process for go-to-market, data or internal operations. It functioned as a “workflow builder” for marketing and GTM staff, handling everything from sales call analysis and LinkedIn outreach to content distribution without the need for an engineer to manually put integrations in place across hundreds of tools.

What Happens to Rilo After the Adobe Deal?
Now that the ink is dry, Rilo’s intellectual property and all six of its employees are part of Adobe. Current investors will see an exit, but for Rilo customers the news is that the standalone platform will be discontinued. Those features will be folded into Adobe’s own marketing and experience suite.
“We are joining Adobe to get AI in front of Fortune 500 marketers,” said co-founder and CEO Dhruv Jaglan. His counterpart, Georgi Boby, put it this way: the mission continues, “at a whole new scale.”
How Rilo Could Change Adobe’s Enterprise AI Play
It is a significant step for Adobe’s enterprise AI game. The Rilo tech brings a natural-language element to the mix for products like Marketo and Experience Cloud, simplifying things for non-technical staff. This is also the second time Adobe has made an acquisition in India, after picking up Rephrase.ai back in 2023.
Why Rilo’s Acquisition Signals a Bigger Shift in AI
But there is a broader message here for the industry. Big software houses are keen to buy up young firms for their off-the-shelf agentic workflows as much as for the underlying code. Rilo’s case makes the point that a well-executed AI product can go from a startup venture to enterprise standard in very short order.
