With the enterprise AI market in India at a turning point, Fractal Analytics is making a move to help large organisations put their AI ambitions into practice. The company has established a new India Business Unit (India BU) to see off the demand for deployments that offer tangible business results, as clients look to go beyond proof-of-concepts and pilots.
Under the leadership of Rishi Seth, the newly appointed head of the India BU, the unit will be part of the Asia-Pacific practice overseen by Sandeep Dutta, Chief Practice Officer. Its remit is to drive AI-led change for major Indian enterprises, public sector bodies and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
A Dedicated India Team for a Larger AI Opportunity
There is a distinct difference between an Indian business trialling AI and one rolling it out at scale. The latter presents its own hurdles: how to embed the technology in intricate workflows without compromising on security or governance. To address this, Fractal is building its India strategy on product-led transformation, not just services. The firm underlines its commitment to proprietary AI with R&D and IP creation that accounts for over 6 per cent of revenue.
Cogentiq Puts Fractal’s Product-Led AI Strategy to Work
At the heart of this is Cogentiq, the company’s enterprise agentic AI platform. It is built to manage multiple AI agents and tools while ensuring auditability and control. In process-heavy functions like credit risk, collections or invoice-to-cash, Cogentiq is already seeing uptake in the BFSI space where automation has to coexist with hard compliance rules.
From Enterprise AI to India’s Bigger AI Ambitions
Fractal is also looking at the broader picture with its involvement in national AI efforts. As part of the IndiaAI Mission, the firm has been tasked with creating a Large Reasoning Model for the country, with healthcare as the first focus.
That work is being put to the test via Vaidya.ai, a multilingual and multimodal reasoning platform founded on Responsible AI. In August 2026, a pilot got underway with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in the form of a WhatsApp Health AI Chatbot for Mumbai residents. Drawing on data from several BMC facilities, the initiative is set to be rolled out to more hospitals and dispensaries such as KEM.
