In a move to hasten the transition to more intelligent, data-driven factories in India, Bosch Software and Digital Solutions (Bosch SDS) has joined forces with French software firm Dassault Systèmes. The Indian manufacturing landscape is evolving beyond mere connectivity; it is becoming one where decisions are made at speed by AI-led systems, and this new partnership is intended to put manufacturers on that path.
Under the terms of the strategic alliance, the two will work to embed AI-led digital transformation into product engineering, industrial value chains and manufacturing operations. The arrangement is already in action: the first joint deployment is under way at a top-tier Indian electric vehicle (EV) maker, meaning the collaboration has well passed the planning phase.
Bringing Digital Twins, Shopfloor Intelligence and AI Together
The deal marries the strengths of both organisations. From Dassault Systèmes comes know-how in Virtual Twin Experiences, PLM and Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM). Bosch SDS contributes its own brand of machine-level intelligence, energy optimisation and IT/OT integration, as well as agentic AI orchestration via the Cognitive Factory platform.
With a Digital Thread linking engineering to factory floor and lifecycle management, the companies are set to deliver real-time operational intelligence and smart factory workflows. They will also be of assistance in the area of Digital Product Passports (DPPs), a necessity for regulatory compliance and traceability.
The First Test Comes in India’s EV Manufacturing Sector
The initial foray into the EV space sees Dassault Systèmes’ tools being used to optimise production while Bosch SDS enables connected, intelligent operations. The goal is to see gains in quality, efficiency and digital traceability. It is viewed as a reference architecture that can be rolled out to other firms in India and elsewhere.
The Bigger Shift: From Siloed Systems to Smarter Factories
Ultimately, the partnership is about moving away from siloed projects to a single, connected ecosystem. By fusing digital twins and PLM with live shopfloor data, manufacturers get better visibility over throughput, energy use and quality. The collaboration will be active in sectors from semiconductors and batteries to consumer durables and automotive.
